Valhalla is kicking off Fashion Revolution Week with a clothing swap in an effort to bring awareness to clothing waste. This year's Fashion Revolution Week is in conjunction with The Disco Dolls Studio, Frolic Exchange Tampa, and Spool Studio LLC. Each retailer is doing a different event to support Fashion Revolution's effort to radically changing the way our clothes are sourced, produced and consumed, so that our clothing is made in a safe, clean and fair way. - Stay tuned for details of other events.
The average American throws away 82 pounds of clothing waste a year; we often wear our clothes just a couple times and never wear them again. At Valhalla, our mission is to change that by providing an alternative where less waste doesn't have to mean less fashion.
Drop off clothes any day before the swap - we will not accept clothing during the swap. - Clean women's clothing (sized XS - XL), shoes, and accessories in gently used condition.
NOTE: the sooner you come in to drop off your items for the swap, the more likely we will be to purchase them for store credit - We are especially looking for dresses and accessories. As the event gets closer, we will have less and less need to purchase inventory.
What to Bring:
Bring a bag for shopping the swap. Valhalla Bags are available for purchase for $6.
How it Works:
• Come in any day before the swap to drop of your items.
• We ask, to keep things fair, that swappers limit the items they take to the number put in. For example, if you have 10 items to swap, you can take 10 items. We will not be policing, we just want everyone to have a fun experience.
• Left over items will be donated. Items that have the potential to be made into jewelry will be donated to Recover T. Recover T makes jewelry from damaged clothing and $1 from every sale goes to Turning Point of Tampa Foundation to help those struggling with addiction. All clothing in good shape will be donated to The Spring.
